now is your chance to complete a crossing that few get to achieve. join the crew of argo this spring and sail across the atlantic from the caribbean to the mediterranean.

There can be no passengers aboard for this voyage. Every team member must become a part of the working crew, rotating positions from taking the helm and standing their watch to provisioning and cooking for their team.
It will be challenging at times, yet our professional crew
will be there to instruct and guide you through. And when the
lines are finally tied to the dock, your sense of achievement
will be immense.
We’ll split the crossing into two primary legs, each of which covers approximately half of the distance. Crew members can enroll for either or both legs. Since Argo will stop in the Azores, Gibraltar and Palermo in Sicily before arriving in Athens, there is also opportunity to split the legs into different combinations based on our berthing availability and your time constraints. Call us for other options.

Joining the vessel in Antigua, the crew will make ready and depart on or around April 30, bound for the port of Horta in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. This 2,300nm, 16-day blue water passage will not only build significant miles but also provide experience in extended cruising and open water crossings. With the wind just forward of our starboard beam this promises to be an exhilarating passage.

The crew arriving in Faial for Leg 2 will depart Horta
and complete the Atlantic crossing in Gibraltar before heading east across
the Mediterranean Sea to Palermo in Sicily, through the Strait of Messina
and across the Ionian Sea to the Gulf of Corinth. The final run to Athens
is through the iconic Corinth Canal. This man-made waterway cuts through the
narrow Isthmus of Corinth, saving over 215nm from our journey, yet we’ll
have to ‘breathe in’ aboard the 112-ft Argo... the canal is only 3.4nm long
but a slight 70-ft wide!
