Sailing is a division of the Global Expeditions Group (GXG).
As a group, GXG has been designing and operating
high quality experiential education programs worldwide for
more than 30 years.
From a high school afloat in the 1970’s, to the origin of ActionQuest in 1986,
Sea|mester in 1998, and Lifeworks in 2002, all programs
have been born of a passion for the ocean and education.

integrity. With a philosophy grounded in
providing uncommon experience, our programs are based upon
active participation and individual support. Our programs
are staffed by dynamic professionals who combine the practical
skills necessary for the operation of a mobile live-aboard

Our trips offer unique
sailing experiences where the crew live full-time aboard
either S/Y
Ocean Star or S/Y Argo sailing from island
to island, country to country or continent to continent in
any number of global locations. In this way, no part of the
experience is confined.
Learning, at its best, should be an
active process, one in which the students are challenged
on a daily basis with responsibilities that play a large
part in the outcome of the voyage. Our programs are designed
to do just that - learn by doing, while seeing and living
those things few have the opportunity to experience.
The
programs that we offer are highly experiential and developing sailing skills is a strong component
of most voyages.
You will become competent at sailing a modern
schooner; develop knowledge in meteorology and navigation
as you plot your course; define leadership skills as you work within
a close team. Our transatlantic crossings also offer advanced
level sail training and professional development through
International Yacht Training. The learning is multifaceted
and the day-to-day itinerary and schedule is dynamic. It is
often said that the experiences onboard are life-defining and
rewarding, not simply as an adjunct part, but rather as a benchmark
of your lifetime achievements.
